We stumbled upon this gem when a booking attempt at another hotel failed. What a great failure recovery. It was so sophisticated and yet simple and clean. The rooms were quiet and clean, the beds amazingly comfortable, the balcony view over the river was exquisite. The staff were superb and accommodating. The bar and tapas offering every night was perfect, and the breakfast was better than any restaurant. Located in the heart of the Douro River wine region, with access to many of the must-see sights and experiences of the region, this was a highlight of our trip.

Highest recommendations for Delfim Douro Hotel. All rooms face the Douro. We had a small balcony. The views are over the top from this location. Rooms are nicely appointed. We sat by the pool in the afternoon and took a hike in their vineyard before breakfast. Breakfast was over the top; best we had in Portugal. Highest recommendations. Wish we had stayed more than one day.

Amazing venue for a wedding or simply just to take some days off and explore the Douro region of Portugal. The hotel staff provides exceptional service and the hotel chef is world class.

Perhaps I am too picky. On the plus side a great location overlooking the duro River. Rooms are very modern but sterile. Staff were helpful. On the negative - I really like a door on my bathroom. Food was okay but definitely no ambiance in the dining room. And playing the local radio station for background music doesn't cut it.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Had the weather been a bit better we would have tried the pool but the pool area was very nice. Excellent breakfast buffet. Great view from very clean room. Watch out for the slippery shower floor though. All in all a very good experience.

Great affordable hotel that is in a central location to explore the Duoro Valley. Nice rooms with beautiful settings. Close to the town of Regua with several restaurants. Spent 3 nights here and would definitely recommend.|
